Plan A Family Fun Day

Who doesn’t like games and fun activities? We may not be able to gather in large crowds this National Day of Love®; however, there’s nothing wrong with showing love and spending time with our immediate families. You can do this on a small or large scale.

If you want, you can use the games you have around the house. Alternatively, you can use this as a time to purchase new games for your family. Another option is to create your own games from scratch. A game of basketball can be created with a laundry basket and socks or you can have a dance contest to the latest music. Another idea is to create an indoor obstacle course. Make sure to have plenty of clear space so no one gets hurt.

If you will be in a warm climate in March, consider taking your family fun day outside. You can set up games, relay races, prizes, bounce houses, and other fun family activities. In certain places, it will be warm enough to jump in the pool. There are many fun water activities like sprinklers, water ball toss, trampolines, etc. that can be enjoyed if the climate is warm enough.

Whatever you choose to do, we want you to enjoy your family. Giving of your time and focusing on them is a great way to show love.

TIPS

  • You and your family are the best judges of games that you will enjoy. For the most fun, include the kids or other family members to help choose the games. They are more likely to enjoy it if they get to choose some of the activities.
  • Make sure there is adequate space for your family fun day. If it is too cramped inside, consider scaling down the activities to make it safer or to go safely outside.
  • Most likely, if you are celebrating with your immediate family, you do not have to register to host an event. However, if you plan to get your community involved and plan this on a larger scale, we request that you register your event with us here.
  • Registering your event may help you avoid potential copyright infringement. Also, your registration helps protect the vision and goals of National Day of Love®.
