Diedre and Charles Banks met in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Charles is an engineering graduate and Diedre graduated in accounting. Together they have two boys.
Diedre Banks is an accounting graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has always believed in philanthropy and started giving back to others at a young age.
Diedre and Charles started National Day of Love® in 2017. Diedre had a vision of a day where people would come together and give back to their communities through acts of love. Since then, National Day of Love® has gotten widespread support and grown to multiple states. They also started Love Awareness Month in 2017 which provides resources for people to grow in love through their ministry Elevated by Love Ministries International.
Love Awareness Month is February 15 through National Day of Love (third Saturday in March). During Love Awareness Month people learn about love and have opportunities to show love in their communities.
Through their foundation, The Banks Foundation, Inc., Diedre and Charles celebrate National Day of Love® by providing scholarships, school supplies, and general sponsorships to other organizations.
